I’m trying to find anyone who had the original discs, documentation or example files (perhaps ones that they have created?) for Apollonius from Ace Computing. The author has given permission for a 32bit-safe re-release as a free download, which is great since Apollonius is a nice application, but I only have the program and a few resources, not the examples, or any tutorials or other documentation. For those unfamiliar, Apollonius is a CAD program that specialises in how objects connect with each other. This allows you to resize or manipulate objects as part of a “system” without breaking them. It does this by concentrating on the geometry of CAD, and thus uses a smaller amount of tools to greater effect. However, since it is a little different to your average CAD app, I think it would benefit from examples, tutorial materials and documentation, if anyone has anything available. |

I found a copy of it on my RiscPC – I will fire it up and see what’s there in the way of examples. |

Hi, I found this request when searching to see if there was an Apollonius manual online. I use it on a MacBook Pro using Virtual Acorn RPC-Adjust. I have version 1.21 (15 Oct 1996). I may have the original disc somewhere, but I’m not sure it will still work. I packed away my RiscPC a couple of years ago and at that point some of my original software floppies weren’t readable. I installed the software to my Mac from a backup, this does include an examples folder containing 8 Apollonius files and a ReadMe. I can send you a screen shot of the files I have if this helps. I think have a printed user manual somewhere, but can’t find it at present. |
