Beagleboard-xM Power

Does anybody know if the Beagleboard-xM can be powered from the expansion header 5V pin, or does the 5V jack have to be used. (just redesigning a daughter board and thought I could save a few pence by not using the jack…)
For info, the board interfaces 48 outputs to drive relays and has 64 5V tolerant inputs.

It can be powered from the mini USB socket, I used to run it off my EeePC that way (which surprised me, it’s quite a power hungry device!), but I think the USB way might be limited in how much current can actually pass.
