Sometime soon I’m going to make my first attempt at installing ROS on a Raspberry pi. On the Beagleboard the order the files are placed in the DOS partician matters. I haven’t seen any reference to such for the pi. Is it that it doesn’t make any difference? |

Provided that the SD card has been set up in the proper way – see Dual-format SD card for details – it doesn’t matter what order you copy the individual files to the DOS partition. |

Getting there & this is sent from the RPi 4. Initially the pi wouldn’t read the config except for its name from my monitor giving me a 640 × 480 display even after I supplied it with a definition file but then decided to work by magic. Copied everything over from the BB -xM and the pi refused to get past DHCP being set for the BB’s USB ethernet. Ok, no problem. After sorting out stuff relying on CMOS and ShareFS it all seems OK except I want to change the loopback name in the Hosts file which still refers to the BB -xM but changing the name kills resolving. Ages since I’ve tinkered here… |
