Adding a suspend feed option when clicking menu over a feed sounds like it will be straightforward to add.

More than I asked for! It would seem sensible to use the “comment-out” method.

Some ideas in no special order:

• Right click on iconbar to update feeds.
• Special icon on iconbar when new items are available.
• The possibility to rename a feed (Sourceforge feeds are all named “Recent posts to news”).
• The possibility to group feeds by sections.
• The possibility to keep track of readed items over sessions.
• A cache for old items. Then it would be possible to let Sargasso working for days, while shutting down the computer every day… and when you decide to read the news, you’ll be sure to have all of them.
• A ‘show only new items’ option (with possibility to show the other items at the end of the list). Coud be also a special feed “all new items” (by section?).

There’s a new version of Sargasso 2.09 available via PackMan.

Main change in this version is clicking adjust on the Sargasso iconbar icon updates feeds.

When installing via PackMan there are two optional dependencies that can be selected to enable playing Youtube videos.

Once the two optional dependencies are selected for installation the rest of the required dependencies are automatically selected and installed.

I have noticed since upgrading to Sargasso 2.09 (21 Nov 2021) that some line endings are coming through in the displayed feed as “|M”.

It is particularly noticeable, for example, in the feed for this recent initial posting. It seems to be where single newlines are used.
This¹ might be an example (I usually use white space!).

Have any other users noticed this?

I recently installed the latest version of Sargasso (2.10) from PackMan. It fixed an issue for me where I saw an information box displayed before a movie played – thank you, Chris. :)
