RO Use in Schools

As a matter of interest – are there any Schools left using RISC OS? |
David J. Ruck (33) 1636 posts |
I suspect not, although I’d love to be wrong. Louie worked at Knightsfield School from 2009 to 2017, when she started they had Risc PC’s in every classroom. These were then replaced with Virtual Acorn on Mac’s. Thanks to Aarons complete unwillingness to invest any of his profits in further development, that no longer runs on modern 64 bit Mac’s, so they are Mac native now. |

Shame. But doesn’t RPCEmu run on Macs? |

RPCEmu does run on Macs, because I have it running happily on mine, with minimal problems. |

What were they running in the Acorn emulators? I can see why old hardware might hang around for a while, but why didn’t they switch over to Mac native stuff? |

Probably some of that large collection of British tailored educational software from Acorn days
Should we continue the list? |
