Hi I want to read out my electricity meter using RISCOS on Raspberry pi. Is something already made to be able to connect a serial line via USB? Cheers, |

This http://www.amazon.de/USB-Adapter-Serielle-Schnittstelle-FTDI-Chip-Windows/dp/B00594WPDW should work but is a “little” more expensive. |

The device has an Silicon labs CP2104 chip. So I need to write an driver? |

Hi Jaco. Of course, this presupposes that RISC OS can read/write the Pi’s serial port, which I understand is still not possible in any straight forward manner :-( |

I have this infrared probe. I could buy one with an RS232 instead and connect that via a FTDI chip to USB but where is the fun in that? |
