Acorn Archimedes and RISC PC
Kenneth Spencer (1813) 1 post |
Good morning one & all. I have an original RISC PC, and an Acorn Archimedes, as well as BBC Models B & BBC Master(s?) lying around. I also have a 2nd Processor card (Maybe Torch Z80 I think) quite [possibly with the software & manuals somewhere, too). I had the Acorn C/C++ compiler too – quite possibly still have, as I was an Acorn Registered developer for years. I wondered whether there is any interest in these items, or whether they are worth anything? They are all in storage, but I think that they may be in their original packaging. One other thing, if I may: I purchased a Raspberry Pi 3B compatible SD Card with Risc OS onboard. But it is not compatible with the Raspberry Pi 4. Is there a Pi 4 upgrade available for this ? Many thanks & best wishes, Kenneth Spencer |

The first thing I would do is open them up and make sure that the batteries haven’t leaked all over them. |

Old Acorn / RISC OS equipment can still fetch a tidy sum on ebay. You can update your SD card with an image from the downloads section of this very site. |

Depending on price, I’d possibly be interested in a Master. https://heyrick.eu/blog/ – email address is shown at the top of the page… |

If you have a PC (or Mac) and an SD card reader, you can do it yourself. Full instructions are on this page. Failing that, ROOL sell SD cards with RISC OS 5.28 preinstalled. |

You could offer the 8 bit kit (and even the 32 bit stuff) over on Stardot: https://stardot.org.uk/forums/index.php |
