Let's get started with a Pandora port

i see from the pic’s that you have an usb to sata connection have you got it working??

I do have a USB<→(S-)ATA converter here which seems to work fine for harddiscs and DVD writers and Blu-Ray writers. It is one of the el cheapo no-name things. Are there converters that do not work?

I have to make some new pictures, if a little time.
The Pandora is the only picture with UMTS Stick in the background. Unfortunately, the software can not be seen.
From A4xM I have no pictures from operating without protective film. I don’t know why ;-)
But the important things should be seen.

All the hardware is shown in the pictures works well. My BIK (ARMini) with 2 SATA to USB adapters (HD and DVDROM) is very stable. No problems.
You try to look at the point [Verträgliches] on my web page. There is a (incomplete) list of the hardware used by me. If necessary I can also clarify the information.

I have a few downloads on my site online. Among them a !Boot to merge in the original. Bring a MDF and a calibration of the LCD for the Pandora. Without calibration, unfortunately, currently represented off-colors. Not perfect, but hopefully helpful.

I had time to do some tests with the Pandora: The battery was empty after more than 10 hours++ and took 5 hours to reload with the supplied loader. Network via USB is working, and also Thomas Milius’ ComCentre – I already surfed the net using a USB-UMTS plug. The screen under RISCOS still needs some fine-tuning. I tried the Photodek calibration tool and Detlef sent me something from Cerilia to give it a try – but its no persitent solution. Sound only works under Linux.
Under RISCOS, the configuration menues show headphone, microphone, system and speakers, the rest is greyed out.
Most wanted improvements for now would be support of the internal keyboard and the second SD card slot to get rid of all the bulky USB components.
It almost works programs that run on the XM and need no sound. I tested PhotoDesk, RiscCAD, Techwriter, Kino, DigitalCD, ComCentre, Netsurf, Firefox …

For information, preorders are currently available again, just requiring a small deposit this time (rather than the full upfront payment, as before). Their forum is very active, so check out the discussions there if you have any questions.

Well thats because you are referencing the Pandaboard product which is not the Pandora system mentioned by Raik.

Pandora is a self contained system.

Excuse my confused english. I’ll try a short report.
At first you can find the ComCentre-Sources in CVS. It is free. The only thing that Thomas want, send him the configure-files for new Sticks.
ComCentre works with all my actually Hardware… Pandora, BBC4; BBxM Rev.B and C and Panda Rev.A4. I have two ZTE Sticks (K3565; M190) and Thomas two Huawei Sticks. All other Sticks are possible, I think.
You need !USBDevSwp (based on USBModeSwitch from Linux) to swap the Stick in Modem-Mode and the ComCentre-App. Both Programms are in the Package and placed in !Boot.Ressources.
ComCentre comes with any Tools. A Modem-terminal to send AT-Commands, a Infotool to read the Providerinfos, SMS to read and write, a basic Tracking tool to read the CellID and display the location-map, a tool to manage contacts on the SIM… You can see any earlier pictures (Bilder/Software) on my homepage.
At this moment for the Pandora I use a hacked ZTE 3565 Stick and so I don’t need USBDevSwp. The Modem and the internal Cardreader of the Stick are present if I plug in. So I can use the internal MicroSD for RISC OS (SCSI0) und boot my system from this. ComCentre, Netsurf; MessengerPro, Netfech and so on are placed on the card. Everywhere mobile with RISC OS;-)

I never studied Latin either. Until I read that definition I’d always assumed it was short for “My bad luck”.

We were told as we started our Latin lessons that the top stream had to do Latin as the major Universities required it if you wanted to do a degree. We were also told at the same time, with no change in inflection, that they had just changed the rule and would allow students with no Latin to go to University.
