i was trying now about copying my old stuff to an So it’s either the SDFS, or it’s my Pandora. thanks |

I can confirm this. When copying large amount of data (> 100MB?) via SDFS on ADFS-formatted card is used very often “broken direktory” error. After a reboot I continued copying … |

For me it doesn’t work afterwards anymore, and i have a broken map (with check map) is there another board using SD-Cards? (except the pandoraa) On the Pandora, i got only one USB-Port, therfore i need the SD-Card as ADFS-Drive. Shall i report a bug? or shall i wait? |

The RRi Distro has a two partition SDcard. A comparable System also works on the Pandora. |

Maybe an idea for a bounty – to build into RISC OS proper map/structure recovery and repair? Before anybody asks, I’m not volunteering myself for two reasons:
Basically, I don’t believe I qualify to do filesystem stuff. But it would be nice idea for RISC OS to be able to fix itself like ScanDisk used to… |

I tried using DD to write the image that I copied from my PC to the right SD card. Booting from it still resulted in the error I wrote earlier.I am abke to write to the FAT partition in Linux, so why is RISC OS telling me that its write-protected? |

Sorry, you are the only one at this time with this problem. A other one in the “German Forum” have the same problem with Slackware. Please tell me your Angström Version. |

@Jeffrey I have (m)any problems. The most with my Batch 1 Pandora. The Rebirth it takes a little bit better. |

sorry, but its still confusing me, because it seems changed on |

I’m so sorry. Most I have the ADFS card in the right slot and in the left the Pandora stuff and boot, cmos and riscos in the FAT partition root. If you are using this one on the card in the left slot and in addition with the ROM you can take the ADFS card in the right slot. It works stable with my Batch1. |

well i got your boot-image, running on the bootable |
Erich Kraehenbuehl (1634) 181 posts |
well i know, that the pandora port is still alpha. |

What Pandora you use? 256 or 512MB? “Look for this line: modprobe g_file_storage file=$device stall=0 and change it to: modprobe g_file_storage file=$device stall=0 removable=1" you can use your Pandora as cardreader with USBit. Set in Angström the SDStorage option. I hope you test this. |

@Ben Do you know this? Is a answer from EvilDragon… “… There seems to be some bug on the Pandora PCB (on all units). Quite a lot fail to detect the write-protection switch and will always set the SD Card as writeprotected, no matter what you do. Therefore, this switch has been disabled in the normal Pandora kernel. … If you’re using your own kernel, then this switch should be disabled as well." @Erich If you play around with the pandorakey mouse settings (e.g. doubleclick delay down etc.) it takes a little bit better. |

Sorry it’s taken me a while to look at this. The latest ROM image should have a fix for the SD card being reported as read only (I’ve disabled the write protect detection) So far I haven’t seen any problems with SD corruption on my Pandora (512MB Rebirth edition). I’ll try running a few test programs and see if I anything goes wrong. |

@Jeffrey Mostly, If the error is show I became a “broken directory” or “bad map space” via SDFS. If I use the same card after this with a cardreader… no errors, no problem. Jeffrey you have a Pandora… look at http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php/forum/52-dragonbox-coding-competition/ and please vote… http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php/topic/12169-voting-applications/ ;-) |

Finally i could login again. seems windows7 and firefox doesn’t like the rool-website :-( |
Raik (463) 2059 posts |
At work I also use Windows 7 and Firefox (portable). No problem. Interestingly, that Aemulor works at the 1GHz Pandora but not on the Batch1 and Rebirth. |

My question: Which type of USB to Ethernet adaptors are known to work with RISC OS (on the pandora)? |
Raik (463) 2059 posts |
I use this one with my BBC4 and Pandora… http://www.lindy.de/usb-2-fast-ethernet-adapter-10-100/42974.html |

My question is: does it work out of the box with the Pi? Sorry that this is not directly Pandora related. |
Raik (463) 2059 posts |
Yes. With a little bit diffrent settings because the RPi has LAN on board. No problem ;-) |

Lindy seems delivers only to germany and austria, seems no way to get this in switzerland :-( |
