With a little bit diffrent settings because the RPi has LAN on board.

I would be using it with a Model A – no LAN. Can you refer me to what settings need to be made to us this. I have worked through USB and EtherUSB, so I assume they would be something there.

With only one Adapter (The B-internal is also USBtoEther.) you can use the normal PI-settings. If you have a problem read the EtheruSB readme

Not a Aldi Stick, I think ;-) (Witch Vendor is the Aldi?) I have a hacked ZTE 3565-K surfstick (vodafone). So I not need USBDevSwp. Without the hack you need.
The Stick works also under Angström. This should help.

I have also test a ZTE MF190 Surfstick from 1&1 but not with the newest Version of comcentre.
Thomas has two Huawei… a K3765 and a E173 USB Surfstick. A Nokia 6303 classic works also (Thomas test this with a older Version of ComCentre).
All devices are listed in USBDevSwp should work.

To be honest, I have not been through all the posts of this thread…
I would like to know how mature is the current openpandora port compare, e.g. to the raspberry pi one?
I am tempted to buy the openpandora only to get a portable riscos box when I am away from my raspberry pi mainly to develop in BBC Basic and in C, but also to use FireWorkz and possible TechWriter.

The port is comparable with te Beagle port.

RISC OS is very good usable.
The left Nub is to move the mousepointer, the right nub left = left mouse key = select; up = 2x select = doubleclick; down = middle mouse = menu; right = right mousebutton = adjust.
Left Gamepad = Cursorkeys; Right Gamepad = Pos1; End…
My Pandora – website is complete create with WebWonder on my Pandora. All pictures are from my Batch1 or my Rebirth Pandora.

I am looking more and more closely to OpenPandora only to have a RiscOS handheld.
But I see on the pandora wiki page that RiscOS does not recognize the build in keyboard and that an external usb keyboard is needed. Is this still the case or is the wiki page just outdated?
If I buy an openpandora, this is really to have a fully functional mobile RiscOS, not a box to which external usb devices must be attached to be functional… I already have the Raspberry Pi :)

the Pandora keyboard is fully functional. also the nubs with the mouse functions.
it’ all same definitions as with the original pandora anstrom-distro.

which is the actual image for the fat-sd-card(left slot of the pandora)
and which is the actial one for the adfs-card?(right slot)
btw is there allready a fix out fir the ‘biger as2gb’ adfs-sdcard?

btw: thanx for the hint with the lindy- usb2ether-adaptor. works out of the box :-)

The Wiki is Trevors (?) translation from my stupid english as I do the first steps with the real Pandora. In 2011 it works like a Beagle with a LCD.
At this time it works like a handheld. Only WIFI is missing.

What do you mean with the image. There is not a official for the Pandora.
On my download page http://riscos.openpandora.org you find my variation of a livesystem. I create this for the Dragonbox Coding Competition (only a 4th place :-( but over 8000 views ;-) and many downloads and a full mail inbox).
For myself I use two cards. The left 64GB has the LINUX stuff and the download inside and the right 32GB is a ADFS one. The left one I mount with fat32fs. The new ROM are fixed any problems and it works better on the Pandora and on my xM. Many thanks to all the programmer.

Last question: is there a difference in RiscOS support between the Classic edition, the rebirth edition and the newest 1Ghz version? As the newest edition has another processor, I am wondering if the RiscOS port is as mature on this version than on the other…
Which one would you recommand to run RiscOS and with the following usage in mind:

thank you for the fast answer.
i do the same: left sd-card for linux stuff and
booting risc os (fat32), right card is adfs with !boot, etc
i know there’s no official pandora release, but i meant from your site,
which contains the actual risc os-rom? i dunno which one is
the best working for the pandora. i belive in the meantime the
nightly build is allready different..
afaik, the rom belongs onto the fat32-partition?

2. because i like to try to connect a surfstick, therefore
i have to know what belongs on to the adfs-card
to do that, maybe you have a link, where i can download
an image for such an sd-card-image?
sorry for asking this, but i got already a bit confused
with setting up raspb pi, bbxm, and now the pandora is
completely different, because i have to use an sd-card, instead of an
usb-flasdrive.
and im still experimenting with writing sd-cards…

At the weekend I’m a little bit slowly… It is family-time ;-) And my english… :-(

On the ADFS-side all the images contain the same files. A ROM you find only in the “all at one”-livesystem card. But it is a older one. To change is easy. Create a new image takes a little bit longer ;-)
Take the rom to a stick and plug in… boot from the card and mount the FAT partition via the obey from the livecard. Copy riscos from the stick to the card…
Doubleclick !Boot and you will find USBDevSwp and ComCentre configure… All placed in Ressources.
On AppDock you find also comcentre.

For RPi I can create a bootmerge. It contain all the needed files.

I have a Batch1 (classic) and a Rebirth. All the programs from your list are working on both an many more … e.g. Kino, DigitalCD, RiscCAD, Messenger and Co., DosBox, VScumm… all thats run on the Beagleboard (look at http://home.arcor.de/raik_fischer – it is my old beagle page). Aemulor only run on the 1GhHz Pandora but it runs also only on the Beagle xM not on my old Beagleboard. I will upgrade my Rebirth to a 1GHz next week.

I see on the specs sheet that the SoC of the new 1Ghz version (DM3730) is different from the SoC of the Classic/Rebirth version (OMAP3530).
I am therefore wondering if the current RiscOS port is running on the newest Pandore version?

Beagleboard (OMAP3530) and Beagle xM (DM3730) has the same differences and RISC OS works ;-)
It works an the 1GHz Pandora. I have seen this.

Interested to see you are running my CPUClock utility, although it must be an early version, judging from the iconbar icon. There are obviously no problems with it. Perhaps I should update the info about the machines it runs on.

Sorry. My mistake. ;-) I have send your early CPUSpeed and not the later CPUClock to Ingo. My 1GHz upgrade is “on the way”.
But yes, both works fine. If you simply install the machines-info inside on a easy way… Many thanks.

I do not have 1GHz edition. The upgrade is ordered and paid for, and my Pandora on the way to board exchange.
Classic and Rebirth do not differ. Except for the larger RAM.
The only reason for me is that Aemulor only runs on the 1GHz.
