ZLib documentation

Having recently had cause to look again at ZLib, I realise that the only documentation for it that I can find is the HTML document from riscos.com, headed “RISC OS SIX Documentation” and with a footnote “This documentation is copyright 3QD Developments Ltd 2013 and may not be reproduced or published in any form without the copyright holders permission.” I’d like to put the information up on the ROOL wiki, but that copyright notice appears to be an obstacle. Suggestions as to how to proceed, please! |

There’s always the zlib.h file ;-) That being said, ROOL obviously have come to some arrangement to distribute ZLib, so it would be nice to have a similar arrangement to cover its documentation. Scratch that – it would appear that ‘our’ ZLib is a separate implementation? |

A separate implementation? Was it produced from some specification? I’d hope so, but where is it? Or do you mean that the zlib.h file is the documentation? |

ROOL’s was developed by Jeffrey back in 2012 as a RO Select ZLib replacement. I presume that he just used the existing documentation to ensure API compatibility. I’ve never used it so assume it just wraps methods provided by the zlib library. https://gitlab.riscosopen.org/RiscOS/Sources/Programmer/ZLibMod https://www.riscosopen.org/forum/forums/3/topics/894#posts-10377 |

Mine. The ZLib module has been around since… oh, something like 2001? http://www.riscos.com/support/developers/riscos6/programmer/zlib.html |

Very grateful ZLib is available. I’m using it in OSMConvert, our application for processing OpenStreetMap data for use in RiscOSM |
