While the new version of RPCEmu is faster on x86 and x86_64 it’s about 10% slower on arm32 and arm64 compared to 0.9.3. |

Sadly (for me) the emulator no longer works on XP. Oh well… |

Alas, time marches on, and Qt no longer supports XP. You could run a Windows 7 client in VirtualBox (up to 5.2) on your XP host system and run RPCEmu in there, resources permitting… Have a freebie for “IE testing” at https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/ RPCemu seems to work better for me in Linux VMs than on Windows. I have a Linux VM with a RPCemu instance that I spin up for occasional testing on RO 4.39. |

Annoyingly, I happened upon my RISC OS SIX CD a few days ago. Can I find it now? No chance :-( |

RPCEmu 0.7 was available as DOS port: http://b-em.bbcmicro.com/arculator/download.html The library handling video and sound and input up to and including RPCEmu 0.8.15 was Allegro, which had a DOS version. Since RPCEmu 0.9.0, Qt is used, so porting RPCEmu to DOS would be quite a bit of work. |
