System Font on the Desktop error

Having only recently installed the fixed BootCommands ROM on the Titanium, I was surprised to see the System Font appear on the Desktop. See similar here. In my case this was followed by a terminal FileCore in use error. One might be tempted to blame the recent ROM as nothing else had changed but it is more probably just coincidence and the well known law. The FileCore error is a clue.

An unusual FileCore in use error had occurred a couple of weeks ago on the RPi4 and appeared to caused by StrongED 4.70a15 which is known to have a hard to reproduce and very catastrophic bug. I could not reproduce it either. That same alpha StrongED was also in use on the Titanium.

In both cases a restart restored normality.

The stable StrongED 4.69f12 is now on the case. The StrongED 4.70 bug is very well hidden, the alphas had been in use here for quite a while working perfectly.

That is curious, as I had also decided that my reversion to system font was unconnected with the “fixed BootCommands ROM” as I seemed to be the only one suffering, seemingly confirmed by your initial posting stating all was fine with you.

The curiosity is that I was already running the stable StrongED 4.69f12.

These combine to suggest that the fault may well be in the ROM, as the StrongED versions differ!
