Broadband

I have just improved my broadband speed (using ADSL 2+) from 4Mbps to 11Mbps by changing my previous wiring from the master socket to the computer (in another room) from a simple 4-core flat cable running up and over door frames to a proper twisted-pair cat 5 cable buried in the plaster and running in the ceiling coving. Using the same sockets as before there was no difference until I separated the ADSL and phone signals at the master socket using a plug-in box from clarity.it. |

Ground the spare pairs – it helps stop noise pickup.
The filter in the new socket front is stopping noise pickup on the phone extensions from propagating into the raw feed and affecting your ADSL signal – clarity have some nice info with diagrams of the spectrum use if you have a good toour of the site links. |
