He’s likely referring to the Nordic troll legends. |

This thread, introducing the NT, Romans and Nordic trolls, gets more and more amusing – and certainly more OT (off topic that is, not Old Testament). |

Ja, Ja, je sais. Me, I’m just rambling. I’ve only had a few trips to Iceland, the Faroes, & Norway – & have a few books about their mythology, which I’ve not read for decades… https://clive.semmens.org.uk/Photos/Iceland/Trolls.html Paul Glad it’s amusing rather than annoying…I suspect there may be some who are annoyed. Heigh ho. |

Saved by soap, Mr.(Dr?) Semmens? 8) |
Clive Semmens (2335) 3276 posts |
No doctorate here, Mr. Wittington. Plenty of soap, especially since this pandemic started. Culturally and ethnically English/Russian/Jewish, with a cultural overlay for several decades now of Indian, especially in dietary matters. Some critter with hyperosmia might be able to deduce that, who nose? |

Er, Jewish? According to https://academic.oup.com/gbe/article/5/1/75/730630?login=false , not so much. (You don’t become an Arab when converting to Islam, so.). And offtopicer it went.. ho ho. |

No, that’s next month. :p
Not all identities are based upon genetics alone. There’s a rich and long set of traditions and a way of life behind Judaism. |

Obsolete? 😂 |

Very much so. About to succumb to stiction. |

Ethnically != Genetically, although there’s a fair amount of overlap between them. |

Perhaps there should be a ccTLD for Jötunheimr – it would need a very large block of addresses? |

Norway is mostly mountains and forests. Plus more fjords than you can shake a stick at. Slartibartfast’s Masterpiece. |

https://clive.semmens.org.uk/Photos/Norway/Thumbs.html Most of those from a 2008 trip on Hurtigruten. Didn’t have a camera on my first trip (1969) or take many photos on the second (1974, film was expensive in those days). |

Potential pictures for Archive :-) |
Sveinung Wittington Tengelsen (9758) 237 posts |
Those are great pictures. But Hurtigruta goes on the inside of Senja, the second largest island here, but it’s the Atlantic west side which, er, rocks – https://senjafoto.no/senja/mefjorden.htm That’s terrain that is. Grew up around there. Worked fishing a bit too (from Senjahopen). Put long links of nets a bit out, held from drifting by two 75-kg anchors which it was my job to dump with hairpin timing. Got “very wet” when a wave went over the anchor hatch once. Wore a thermo-suit which suddenly got very heavy.. |

If Archive has a sensible use for them, I might have higher resolution versions of them if they’re wanted. But what on Earth is their relevance? |
Clive Semmens (2335) 3276 posts |
Thank you :) I’ve got loads more, but I’m doubtful about putting any more up. I might have put too many up in some of the other categories. Balancing these things isn’t easy.
Indeed, and I’ve not been on the other side during any of my Norway trips. For cliffs and rocks, my best photos are from the Faroes: https://clive.semmens.org.uk/Photos/Faroes/Cliffs.html |

As far as mountains go we’re a bit like Switzerland, just as utterly corrupt too, in difference to the squeaky clean public image. |

I haven’t tried it on RISC OS, but libusb is pretty versatile, so it might be worth a shot for USB v.3/4 support. As for WiFi, I’d say the open-source WiFi management library could potentially help with adding WiFi support, but it might require some tinkering. |
