Pi3 + WispyV, No DNS are configured

Hi, I’ve been away from the platform for a long time, and I’ve forgotten more than I knew. Have searched the forum, but not quite found info needed. I have a new ISP & WiFi6 router, the WISPY V connected as per instructions using iPhone. The Wispy set up correctly, with its blue led flashing rapidly. However when I start NetSurf, it reports “No DNS are configured etc”. I’ve looked inside Boot, Internet, and the Host name is set as RISCOSpi, I’m stuck at this stage. Browser reports, “Couldn’t resolve host name”. I’m sure the answer is simple, but lost in the fog of time. Any guidance please? |

Whilst we can’t help with the specifics of the wispy, the Pi 3 should be able to work on actual wifi, without the need for extras. You can download the latest public test build from https://www.riscosdev.com/wifi_beta In the interest of fairness, we should add that RISC OS 5.30 from ROOL also includes a Wifi driver. You can read peoples’ findings/evaluations elsewhere on the forum. Either way, your Pi 3 should be able to connect without the need for extra hardware now. That all being said, you may get better performance from the Wispy, as it likely has a more elaborate aerial etc. |
