I’m just wondering what the thoughts on missing apps for RISC OS. BBC News I’m just interested in what other network based applications are missing from RISC OS. I figure there would be more interest in RISC OS if people didn’t have to switch to other OS’es to do basic work. |

I would sometimes find a VNC server useful. There are plenty of VNC clients already, but although there is a VNC server I have tended to find it crashes a lot. Not tried it for a while so it may be improved now. An IMAP-based e-mail client which doesn’t store e-mails locally (so different to the Messenger approach) would be nice, and more generally than something devoted to Outlook. I have to admit though, the main reason I use Outlook webmail on the Linux box is to check my work diary, and doing that from RISC OS would be nice. I find Nettle to be very good for terminal stuff, except for the problem of up-arrow not working in a Linux shell session. I’ve never got to the bottom of that. |
