Hi, I’m very new to Pi, Linux, and well quite honestly anything but windows or dos. That said I seem to be totally lost as to what I am doing wrong with setting up my wifi on RISC, I recorded my DNS and IP from a windows machine, played with RISC so many times I’ve reinstalled it fresh 4 times ( to undo settings I dinked with ). Any help would be awesome I like RISC best of all the pi os’s because it is so fast. Any info I can offer to assist you assisting me (lol) I can provide. |

A Raspberry Pi running RISC OS can be connected to a wireless router via WiFi using an Ethernet→Wifi bridge or adapter. These ethernet→WiFi adapters can be purchased relatively cheaply, although they are more expensive that a normal USB WiFi ‘dongle’. But these ethernet→WiFI adapters do work, and allow the RPi running RISC OS to be used on trains etc., using the Lapdock as an HDMI screen and keyboard. Ralph |

Welcome Jon. Whereabouts are you based? There might be a user group nearby that you can go along to for some advice. If you are near London, I’m duty bound to point out that there is a meeting this Monday :-) |

My WiFi adapter is the Edimax BR-6258n. It bridges Ethernet to Wifi and hadles WPA encryption et al. Conects to the Ethernet connector on the RPi and is powered by 5v via a USB connection. Ralph |
