URL Link App?

Does anyone know of a program that can create an Application from a URL or URI saved from a browser? On Windows, I use RocketDock to create a “top bar” of links that open in Chrome, and have gone some way to replicating this using Docktor on RISC OS. However, when I drag a link to Docktor, it displays the standard filetype icon for the link. Is there a program that would allow me to drag the link AND a sprite to it to create a mini App that simply opens the link in a browser. I have created a few by hand but figured that it would be better as a simplified process. In my versions, my apps only use a !Boot file, a !Run file, a !Sprites22 file and then the URI file saved from NetSurf. Obviously these have to be appropriately named and edited, but I’m sure this could be easily automated. Any ideas? Or someone fancy writing one? |

I kind of thought it might be possible to drop a sprite to the front end of the App creator and it would rename it automatically to the name of the App so that it is loaded and displayed.
Absolutely! I have a NAS with all my files, photos and documents on, so there’s plenty of spare space on my 32GB SD card! :-) |

IME sometimes website shortcuts can be more readily visually identified through the use of thumbnails (on other OSes). But such thumbnails don’t always offer that much help, especially if they’re small (as they probably would be for such pinboard icons). YMMV, and perhaps favicons could be considered as an alternative. |
