RISC OS 3 PRMs - dead link

The Programmers Reference Manuals page in documentation has a dead link that seems likely to stay that way. It points at PDF items in the old foundation pages which have been replaced by an HTML version in the 3QD pages.1 However, PRM volume 1 and the index are corrupt. So the choice is point at the old PDF version, with missing volume 1 and index or point the link at the 3QD pages. 1 I have a slight issue with the content of those pages in that each page seems to have aquired a logo that implies the content was written/produced by riscos.com whereas it predates the existence of that organisation. Probably just me, consequence of being a victim of plagiarism at work making me overly sensitive. |

The other day I discovered that The Internet Archive host copies of some CDs and things, including the RISC OS manuals CD: |

Now that looks more like the paper version upstairs. Edit: mind you, you need to look in the HTML directory if you want PRM 5a |

Yes, and looked at the contents using !CDFaker.
This iso is the same as the CD ROL were selling all those years ago, my CD is dated 2000, the READMEs in the roots are both dated 2 Feb 2000. Vol5a is present in the HTML but not as a separate entity, the contents of vols 1 to 4 & 5a are all together in the single directory $.MANUALS.PRM. The images look OK to me and are there as both DRAW and PNG. There is no PDF of 5a. |

For example, this from In NetSurf clicking on the inline png link displays the Draw file, Oregano2 and Firefox on a Mac offer a save of the Draw file. |
