Hello My firstname contains a ‘ç’, i.e. c cedilla. On my OpenPandora, this typically french character is not available. So, how can I enter special characters inaccessible from the keyboard? Thank you for your help. Regards François |

Rick has a useful tool at his site, or you could just use Alt/231 – on the number pad with Num Lock on – which gives ç here. I use a tool from an old Risc User magazine called CustomChr which can be easily preset with special characters for many different languages, but I don’t think it’s freely available. Martin Würthner has a posh version (more sophisticated) of Chars called XChars freely available. Note we don’t usually quote the pling (!) in application names in RISC OS world. HTH! |

I am pleased to say that I have managed to contact Jonathan Rawle, the author of this program, and he will shortly reinstate his old RISC OS software site. I’ll tell you here, and probably also announce elsewhere, when this is up and running again. |

There’s a far more convenient way, at least for me, to produce the ç: First press Alt-/ and then press c. |

I was wondering when somebody would remember the ALT keypresses… :-) |

I tried all ALT-key combinations, but never thought about Alt-/ , release, press ‘c’… |

For the record, the software in question is called MoreKeys but I’ve not seen any obvious link to it on Rick’s site, for some reason – but I do find it a little tricky to navigate. From what I remember the last time I tried MoreKeys, it was really handy. |

I have managed to contact Jonathan Rawle, the author of the program I referred to for easily using foreign language characters, and I am pleased to be able to announce that he has once again made available his software pages containing a wealth of materials. These can be found here at http://jonathan.rawle.org/software/. |

Is this better?
My site is a fairly accurate digital representation of my mind. There’s a hanafuda-playing-bunny-girl in there somewhere… |
