What hardware platform do you intend to deploy it on? |

My memory is unreliable, but I thought that there was a POS that ran on RO. Back in the RiscPC days. I’d assume it was ‘possible’ to make one based on something from another OS, but no idea how much work would be required, etc. Depends what language, what libraries, etc, a current version is sourced on. I expect that potential developers would like to see a working version of the Android software. Your Kroid Cloud YouTube video (which doesn’t seem to be prominently linked to from your website, although I could’ve missed it) is a starting point. That seems to show a bit of a lag when making selections, although perhaps that could be addressed in your current version. Two critical things you’d need to consider for a RISC OS version are support for Wi-Fi and If I ever visit LA, I’ll look out for your software when I eat out! 1 Thanks for the correction, David. |

Correction: only support of multitouch touchscreens is missing. Most touchscreens act as a simple mouse in ‘monotouch’ mode (when the needed USB port is present). |

I developed a POS for a pizza chain in the early 90s on RISC OS. In those days the OS was in ROM, and via a podule the application software could be too – the resulting “instant on” made it very suitable for POS indeed. |
