OKI C5600 Printer with a Pandaboard ?

Hi there, I’m trying to get my OKI C5600 laser colour printer running under Risc OS on my PandaBoard. It’s connected by USB and I did all the steps proposed on http://www.svrsig.org/HowTo.htm, but didn’t work out. The USB device is recognised correctly and the connection seems to be set up okay also by !Printer. As printer type I tried Post Script Level 1 and 2 or text only but I get either an error like “Cannot find a valid endpoint” under Risc OS or the printer tells me invalid data when printing from !Edit or !Paint. I’m not 100% sure if the printer is capable of post script, just the manual talks about “Post Script Emulation”. Anybody any idea ? |

It looks like the OKI C5600 is a GDI Printer and need drivers. But not sure. The descriptions in the WWW are contradictory. Good luck. |

Unfortunately, the C5600 uses “host-based printing system”, i.e. GDI. Not PCL, not PS compatible. So your only option to use it on RISC OS is RComp’s UniPrint and a PC. |
