Wolfson audio card

I noticed recent announcements wrt the Wolfson audio card for the RPi. This looks like quite a nice bit of audio kit. But what I’ve read thus far only mentions Linux. So I’m wondering if there might be interest in making it work with RO. I’ve exchanged a couple of emails with someone I happen to know at Wolfson to see if I can get more info on the card. I’d be interested to read what others here may think about this as a possibility. At present, though, I don’t have an RPi so can’t check it out for myself. Jim |

Hi Jim, I would be very interested in this :@) Sounds like an investment I might need to make… Alas, I am only just learning C so my skills are no where suitable (yet) to write any drivers. I am quite shocked that this hasn’t been picked up more, as the analogue sound output from the Pi is quite noisy (PSU noise + CPU Nosie + SD Access Noise). I use HDMI to send to my Amp and so don’t hear it, but in the car…the alternator rules! This guy seems to want to use it: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=521317&sid=9d2cff311860440ba8a00abcaaecdcf7#p521317 However this might be of interest: http://www.element14.com/community/thread/33571/l/wolfson-sale Michael |
