Replacement RISC OS Components Released Under GPL

Is there any potential for integrating these components, once finished, into the ROOL OS? I realise that not everyone likes the Castle licence, but it would be a shame if this project wasn’t widely available due to licence clashes.

Yes, there are various options. But this is getting ahead of ourselves. Assuming they are finished (which the SCL presumably is, and the filer not quite), they still need someone to test them, and they still need someone to work on them if any issues are found. The free SCL here has been available for quite some time, with apparently little testing. I’m sure Graham would appreciate any feedback.

The GPL and Castle’s licence are fundamentally incompatible. There are work-arounds for this situation, but at ROOL we far prefer BSD to GPL and would urge people to use that where possible.
