Elite on Beagle Board

Evening All, Is there a version of Elite available that will run on the Beagle Board? I read somewhere that Jeffrey Lee updated ArcElite to run on the SA processor, just wondered if anyone had tried to get it running on the Beagle Board. Many Thanks, Rob. |

I did update it to be StrongARM compatible, but not to be 32bit compatible. Since we don’t have any source code, making it 32bit compatible, and then ARMv6/7 compatible, would probably be a lot of work. Your best bet is probably to wait for Aemulor (Pro) to be ported, which can run the game fine. |

Okay! Thanks for the info! I’m looking forward to playing Elite once again! |

On which note, I had a read through some of the Cortex-A8 docs at the weekend and I think everything that Aemulor needs for implementing its ‘StrongARM’ emulation mode (by far the fastest) is present, so it should be possible to produce a full port of Aemulor Pro, given time. (That said, the BB is undoubtedly fast enough to run ArcElite, and most other RPC-era software, using Aemulor’s interpreter anyway.) |

Hopefully 6502Em can be coaxed into working too. |
