Uh think I did what you suggested but it didn’t help. Utterly confused now as to what I’m actually supposed to do. Apart from keeping StrongED |

I have just renamed the zap download file to ZapFull.zip . This now contains a virgin !ZapUsers structure as well as the ZapRedraw module in the skeleton !Boot contained in the archive. To install, Merge the !Boot file from the ZapFull.zip to yours with the install option from configure – Boot tool. This should now work !! HTH Tank |

Yes, finally got Zap running on the Beagle. |

I’ve just realised that the disappearance of the pane from the e-mail mode probably coincides with installing this version on the Iyonix. I just tried copying over the newemail and email modules, but this causes Zap to crash on start-up. Tank: any comments, please? |
Tank (53) 375 posts |
Do you mean that you have copied the modules to the Beagle, then you need to delete them, as only the modules that are in the archive from my download work, as stated a couple of posts above. |

I deleted the original installation from my Iyonix and installed yours instead. (My BB is not involved in this discussion at all.) Although Zap works in general on the Iyonix, I noticed that the pane with the e-mail functions was missing. I found the archive called something like everything32 and copied the newemail and email modules from it into Zap and restarted it, but Zap crashed on start-up. If you expect “foreign” modules (i.e. not from your version) not to work, that’s what I’m seeing – but, in that case, will you be adding the e-mail functionality to your version soon? |

Dave, |

Thanks, Tank. The good news: Zap starts up without error. The bad news: still no e-mail pane. This is strange because all I originally did was to delete the executables; I left the configuration alone (it is all stored in Choices, isn’t it?) so I’d have thought that the e-mail pane should still be configured. Unless starting it up without the e-mail modules has deleted the relevant part of the configuration, I suppose? |

Dave, If you goto Menu-Display is Buttons ticked ? The Buttons are added by the module !Buttons… |
Dave Higton (281) 668 posts |
Ah – in fact Visible on its own doesn’t do it, but Visible plus Persistent does. Many thanks, Tank! |

It turns out that the buttons keep disappearing from view. Changing buttons visible to on restores them, and, while visible is on, any click of Persistent also restores them, but they will later disappear. I haven’t actually noticed the instant of disappearance yet, therefore I can’t point to a cause yet. Maybe the redraw of the pane doesn’t always happen when it should? |

Dave, did you do both save steps when you set the option ? |
Holger Palmroth (487) 115 posts |
No button pane in BASIC mode, too. Did both save steps and menu items Visible and Persistent are ticked, but no effect. |
Dave Higton (281) 668 posts |
Yes, and I’ve just done them again. Yet, when I open another e-mail window, there’s no button pane – even though Buttons-Visible and Buttons-Persistent are both ticked. 1.48 tnk-5. |
Tank (53) 375 posts |
OK, I think I’ve fixed it… Only the Zap module has changed…. |
Holger Palmroth (487) 115 posts |
Yay, buttons! Great work! |
Dave Higton (281) 668 posts |
Yep, buttons for me too. Thanks! |

When trying to open the menu Options > Display > Font > Anti-aliased font I get an error "Zap may have gone wrong … " |
Tank (53) 375 posts |
No, that’s a new one for me to look at !! It also does it on the Iyonix. |

A new version of !Zap is available with a fix for an error that I had not seen until a couple of weeks ago, where if you left cursor in some mode windows, it crashed. |

Hi, I am using 1.48 tnk-7 of !Zap (on my BB XM) I am having an issue with not getting the button pane up for BASIC mode :@( The menu structure is as thus: I have just used your “Full !Zap” archive, and a previous “ZapFonts” (using your newer zapredraw module) Any ideas? |
Tank (53) 375 posts |
Michael, is this only with Basic windows ? E.G if you open an Obey file do you have buttons. |
