BeebIt Keyboard Mapping

Running RISCOS on Pi 2 no problems keyboard all working fine
switch over to Beebit BBC Micro Emulator and the keyboard only partly working
e.g.
No A key
Shift 8 gives a ( not a *
There are a lot more
No way to not have caps
using UK keyboard
Beebit has only two keyboard configs default and game both seem to give same results.

Hi,

I’ve not tried BeebIt on a Pi2 however it works on a Pi. The keys will produce the same keycodes as on a BBC so Shift 8 will produce a ( as that is what Shift 8 on a BBC produces.
The only difference between the default and game keyboard definitions is to swap the ‘A’ key and the left ‘Ctrl’ key so that games such as Arcadians can be played more naturally. Make sure the games layout is not set.
Caps lock should work. Shift + key only given upper case when caps lock is off. When caps lock is on, Shift + key will not give lower case by default. You can press Shift-Caps to allow this to happen.

Used a BBC B back in the 80’s forgotten it all!
Are there any resources info wise especially with regard to using DFS saving loading running etc. on an idiots level?

Off the top of my head I can’t think of any resources directly, however an internet search should turn up something.
You can always type in *HELP (ie. *HELP DFS)
Most disc images can be run by using Shift-Break.
BASIC programs are run from BASIC using CHAIN “”
Machine code programs are run using *RUN “”
