I read the changes as making each BB’s MAC code unique by default. If that’s the case then the MAC will be different from that which you set but not the same as for each of your other Beagleboards. Am I incorrect? Don’t you just have to re-register your machines with the new MACs to the original IPs? |

My reading of the comments in the CVS is that a unique ID is now generated on the machines that don’t have a fixed ID already. i.e. the Beagleboard devices, as one example, will now have an auto generated but predictable MAC
That would appear to be the case, so it’s just a case of setting the router to hand out whatever the IP was to a different known and unvarying MAC. Extremely useful change IMHO |

I mean yesterday evening both xM has the same MAC. |

Ah, I must have misunderstood the changes. Using only one xM I could see that the MAC had changed but wouldn’t have made a comparison. From the CVS: |

Setting a custom MAC should work again with the latest ROM. |

Works like before the changes. Thank you. |

Does EtherUSB support the ASIX AX88772B chipset? I have an Edimax EU-4208 USB-Ethernet Modem, which the bumpf says comes with the above chipset (and USBInfo lists the Vendor ID as 0b95 (Asix) and the product ID as 772b), but it is not recognised. Is this likely to be an issue with Ether USB not supporting the B variant? |
