This Pi Compute based pocket computer might make for an interesting RISCOS gaming machine if it reaches its funding, the price is somewhat excessive at $380 initially though. |

I’m wondering if they (and quite a few others) are a bit miffed about the Pi Zero which I imagine will replace the Compute Module in time. I guess, at least with the development projects like this one, they can redesign and save $15! |

I missed that announcement, will have to pick up a copy of MagPi to get a free one. Has anyone tried RISCOS on it yet? The trouble with Pi’s is the lack of power regulation, it makes them next to useless when the CPU starts ramping power up and down due to the voltage droop. I still don’t understand why it’s not been resolved, despite several revisions. The CPU and GPU handle voltage droop okay, but USB dies the minute the voltage drops below a certain threshold. I reported it to the engineers a few years back, so its not as if they’re not aware. |

The Poco looks interesting but with less than 0.5% backing in two days it’s extremely unlikely to get funded:-( |

s/get funded/reach its funding target/ Realistically, you’re probably correct – I can’t see it making its target. I suspect it won’t even get close, but you never know. However, the Poco Indiegogo campaign has a “flexible goal” – so while it may not reach the target amount, the person behind it is 100% likely to get the money pledged by backers. And in Indiegogo terms, that means it will “get funded”. |
