Timeout on monitor configuration trial

I’ve got an HDMI splitter between my BBxM and the monitors (I use two different monitors when doing different things). This adds an extra synchronisation time when a different monitor configuration is tried. What happens is that the new display just becomes visible, then immediately reverts. There isn’t enough time to see if it’s really OK.

I’m not confident that synchronisation of the splitter and the monitor will always happen within the time that we’re given.

Is there an easy way to change the timeout duration?

The delay is hardcoded in the screen setup plugin, so there’s no direct way for people to change it.

However I have just checked in a change to increase the delay from 5 seconds to 10, so keep an eye out for when the new disc image is available to download tomorrow.

I think I’ve always thought that 5 seconds was a bit on the short side.

I think Windows gives you 15 seconds.
