SWI &40242 not known

Hi, I’m a complete newbie to this I’m afraid, I used to have a A3010 and loved it so have been trying to get RISC OS going on the Rpemu. I’m using the latest, IOMD ROM, (is this the correct rom?) and get an error saying ‘SWI &40242 not known’ when it loads, but then the desktop seems to work fine. I just wondered what this was and if it was something i’m doing wrong.. Cheers (I love this project btw, and if I can contribute in any way i will!). |

Hi. Have you had a look at the IOMD thread and elsewhere on the site for some pointers? (Sorry, I’ve not tried RPCEmu myself.) |

Thanks, looks useful, I’ll check it out. |

SWI &40242 is ADFS_Drives (same as that page, but with R8 preset). I’m guessing the IOMD ROM doesn’t contain a functional ADFS module? |

It must do, as it works on a real RiscPC. But RPCemu’s emulation might not be good enough for it to work properly, or the IOMD ROM is doing something dodgy that it gets away with on real hardware. This combination is very much Alpha quality at the moment! Or maybe the default CMOS RAM settings are leaving some modules unplugged? |

I think you’ll find that Ben is using the latest ROOL IOMD ROM, which doesn’t yet contain any of Tom Walker’s work (such as getting ADFS working). So if he switches to Tom’s latest ROM (which looks to be the one linked to from this post) then everything should be a lot better. AIUI all of Tom’s changes are sitting in ROOL’s inbox, so if we’re all good little boys and girls then Santa will give ROOL enough time away from work/family to get the changes merged into CVS in time for Christmas ;) |

I’d like to question this: I don’t appear to have any such email waiting in my inbox. I’ll give Tom a prod and see what’s happened there. |

Steve: See Tom’s post here – as of the end of September it had been “a couple of months” since he’d sent off his changes. |

I double-checked my emails and have found no sign of this code drop so I pinged an email to Tom. Hopefully, we can get this sorted out soon and merge his changes into our IOMD build tree. |

Tom and I have cleared up what happened to his submission so hopefully we can get his changes folded in soon. :) |
