StrongED new version 4.69a4

Version 4.69a3 of StrongED has the habit of running a duplicate copy of itself on the iconbar each time another relavent file was double-clicked on. I was not able to find an option to prevent this nor any clues within the application’s many files. So, I emailed the maintainer(s) of StrongED with my tale of woe & this is the reply I received from Fred Graute …

“StrongED 4.69a3 came about because there were users that wanted to use
it on ARMv7 hardware, such as the BeagleBoard. To accommodate these users
quickly I created a new RunImage directly from my development copy, ie
without the usual testing that is done on release versions.

One of the changes in 4.69a3 is that the ModeWhen system (that decides
which mode to use for a file) has been altered. In particular, BaseMode
now needs to have a ModeWhen file but this is not present in earlier
versions as they didn’t need it.

The absence of the ModeWhen file can cause the running copy of StrongED
to reject certain files. The OS will then run the application that has
claimed text files, most likely StrongED, and then offer the file to it.
Hence you end up with a second copy of StrongED.

Recently I put 4.69a4 together for inclusion with the ARMini. This does
have a ModeWhen file in BaseMode. There have also been some minor tweaks
to the ModeWhen system and I believe it works better now. You’ll find it

Version 4.69a4 works just fine after I installed it & so now I have added in my shortcuts to the BASIC modefile & they work just as they did on the old A7000+, yay!
