The following, simple ARM based system – http://www.raspberrypi.org/ Any thoughts? It’s a shame though that someone won’t able to package it in an acorn-like case and call it |

A port is certainly a possibility, although I’m not sure whether everyone would agree with your assessment that it’s an ideal system for RISC OS ;-) At this point I think most people are interested in devices with SATA for storage, and better video capabilities than 1080p@30fps. But regardless of that… here’s a previous thread discussing the possibility of a Raspberry Pi port. |

Well I have my reasons for wanting a Raspberry that works at TV res , not super-plasma;) It’s partly that I want to have a system I can still program with an API I can actually understand, It’s partly so I don’t have to have 3 different monitors for various different platforms… |

There are single-core ARM chips out there with SATA, USB, Ethernet, and so on running at 1.5GHz. I’d much prefer the next RISC OS port to target a platform with that sort of chip on it. Maybe even a dual core; we wouldn’t be able to use the second core initially but it’d be an option for the future. |

That’s a reasonable point :) Question, what would be an appropriate spec for a ‘Lepton’, which would need to cost less than 100UKP(retail).? |
