VNC server/Avalanche

With Steve Potts VNCSvr (1.08) on Beagleboard and trying to connect via Avalanche (0.22) on Iyonix, BB reports a fatal error – abort on data transfer &20348EA0. Alignment Exceptions are on. Avalanche indicates successful connection but nothing is displayed in window. With Alignment Exceptions Off, Avalanche reports “Can’t connect to host”. Has anyone got this to work properly? Maybe Adrian Lees VNC server is an alternative. Didn’t test it extensively, but I was able connect to my BB from my RISC PC. |

I’ll have a look. Thanks for the info. |

Which version of the Module Vncserver are you using 0.10? But there still a few non ARM7 instructions in there. |

Sorry about late reply – Aria is playing up. I’ve tried both VNCServer module 0.10 and 0.11 with Alignment Exceptions ON and OFF. Avalanche still reports “Can’t connect to host”. Your comment about non ARM7 instructions may be the reason :-( Has anyone managed to “talk” to their Beagleboard over VNC with their Iyonix? |

Just checking it again (In fact, I am writing this via VNC from my RISC PC on my Beagle): Started the server by doubleclicking on Adrian’s module, entered the IP address of the BB in Avalanche and it just works, apart from Avalanche not liking my German keyboard. |

Thanks Holger for getting back to the forum and confirming that Adrian’s 0.11 module works on the BB – it looks as though I’m going to have to do more fault-finding. |
