C/C++ Tools System Requirements

What are the minimum system requirements for the latest Norcroft C/C++ Tools?
Can they be used on older machines? An A5000 for example?

I’m afraid that I can’t provide a definitive answer, but it does appear to need the Universal Boot structure.
While this will run on 3.11, my experience with this environment, means that I suggest using a more powerful machine, in order of usability, Iyonix, SA RiscPC, RiscPC700, RiscPC600, A7000+, A7000.

A Beagle Board, or the ARMini derivative would be the fastest machine, but I have no experience with these.

Perhaps someone will be along shortly to advise on these two.

I don’t know about a speed comparison, but the tools can certainly be used on the BeagleBoard. You’ll need to extract them on a non-ARMv7 machine first, because the current installer isn’t happy on ARMv7 hardware. Then copy the installation across.

Is it just a case of copying the folder?
Or are there updated System modules to transfer too?

ISTR it’s just the folder. But checking the agenda for a SysMerge (if you copy that too) should confirm if otherwise.

[Edit: Although if you’re installing under RO4/6, it could be a little confusing – however, I installed under RO6 and it worked so perhaps it is just the tools.]

You can just copy across the files from the CD.
A lot go in your Library Directory.

If you want to run them on the A5000 (have you 8Mb) – try them one by one.
Somebody with the 26bit only versions may be of some help.
You will require the 32bit CLib for the A5000 for some progs.
