IOMD ROM Status

I’m debating trying out the latest IOMD ROM on one of my Risc PC machines. Has anything changed in the last few months with regards to hardware support, will any of the following work? -Dual head ViewFinder |

Nothing’s changed with the hardware support, so none of the cards you list will work. The podules should be ignored, so they shouldn’t cause problems, but I’m not sure what will happen if you’re using a kinetic card. Since it’s a softload the kinetic hardware will already be initialised, so perhaps it’ll just end up booting into RISC OS 5, but using the motherboard RAM instead of the Kinetic RAM? |

Unless a card has been made available from somewhere else, I expect that Tom’s still awaiting my Kinetic card (blush).1 But having seen the state of our local Royal Mail sorting office this morning (queueing for an hour from 6:40) I’m reluctant to post it to him before Christmas. 1 [Edit: Double-blush: This is a real machine, isn’t it! Sorry. Maybe I’ll ask Tom to lend it on to Jeffrey or whoever else could use it when he’s done!] |

What is the miminum changes required for ARM Code ‘module’ on a 26/32 bit machine running RO5? |

All module code must be 32 bit compatible, surely?! It will run in 32 bit mode, after all! |

Is it just me? I have just rebuilt my RiscPC (os 4.02) following the death of the hard disc and changed the cmos battery before it got the chance to go furry. Anyway I thought I’d give the IOMD soft load of 5.17 another go, however if the soft load is selected I get the following output: Softload version 1.16 It then just carries on booting into 4.02! Any help welcome. I have tried shift booting then running the softload manually but to no avail! Finally I’d like to say a big thank you to the authors of RPCemu and to Sprow for oneHform for helping to make recreating the hard disc a painless experience, using ShareFS from my Windows 7 laptop. |

I didn’t test it any-more, but every time I tried to load OS 5.1x it still booted to 4.02 I’ve a PISC PC with strongarm and OS4.02 Mark |

Yeah same for me, I did look into it a while ago but the softloader hurts my head. Jeffrey Lee fixed the problem with the softloader fiddling with the page tables from user mode that I reported, but with 4.02 there’s still something stopping it actually doing anything. |

Does the softload tool work properly if the Risc PC is running RISC OS 4.39? |
