Problems with Builder and RO6

When I try to start Builder unter RISC OS 6 (VirtualRPC-SE) I get the same error message as Rob : “Unable to start application (decompression failed)”. But UnTarBz2 runs without Problems. When I switch to ‘no softload’ and start with RISC OS 4.02 Builder runs without problems. Does anybody know a solution for this? |

The solution is probably the same as it was for getting UnTarBz2 to work. Try manually ‘xpand’-ing any binaries inside !Builder and any other apps it might be calling. Let us know if that works… |

There are o lot of binaries inside the build directories to be expanded. I have already attempt to manually expand some of the files with the result it takes two or three seconds longer till the error message apears. |

When I was building on the A9Home, I found that I had to stop the build producing squeezed binaries along the way. Perhaps that’s the sort of problem you’re experiencing. See here, under the Build failures heading. There are other, possibly better ways, of preventing the squeezing from happening, like setting an alias on the squeeze command, or adding a dummy squeeze program that does nothing on your Run$Path. Note that the above-mentioned page is very out of date. I hope to update it soon, but I’m a bit swamped at the moment. Also note that the most recent version (22) (and possibly the one before too; I’m not sure) of the DDE contains a squeeze tool that creates binaries that do decompress happily under RO6. What version of the tool chain do you own? |

Hmm, the line at your linked page are already added to CApp. And I have the version 22 of the DDE. |
