Default Shortcut Keys

I have a feeling I might have asked this before but is there a default set of shortcut keys for RISC OS programs? I’m thinking of things like “save”, “copy”, “cut”, etc., |

Yes… ish. That’s “yes, there is… but not everything follows them.” Off the top of my head (they’re in the Style Guide, but that’s not to hand just now)… F2 Load; F3 Save. In dialogue text fields, Ctrl-U clears the text. I’m sure that there are more in common usage, but those are the main official ones, I think. |

Cut/Copy/Paste should get more widespread support if this bounty is completed. It seems that I’m the only donator so far though! |

Cool thanks!
Is that part of the DDE? I don’t have it installed on my current RISC OS Also I noticed in a Task Window “Escape” seems to have the same effect as "Break"—is this generally accepted or do they do subtly different things? |

The Style Guide is not part of the DDE – see https://www.riscosopen.org/content/sales/style-guide |

??????? Using that logic, one can only assume that the DDE manuals are not part of the DDE – see https://www.riscosopen.org/content/sales/dde-manuals-box-set For everybody else, you’ll find an electronic version of the Style Guide as …Documents.Manuals.Style/pdf (along with the PRMs, ABC, DDE, and Toolbox manuals). |

I think the mistake is in assuming that the requirement to shell out extra for the paper weight is also true for a soft copy. |

There are some confusions around! I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that Glen was asking if he had to buy the DDE to get the Style guide. As Rick pointed out, the DDE package does contain a Style Guide PDF file. |

Sorry I wasn’t clear—I already have a copy of the latest DDE (my brother bought it as a christmas gift!) but I haven’t installed it on my current RISC OS platform because I’m planning on migrating to a new platform as soon as I’ve finished soldering it all together! I was merely checking if I already had a copy lurking on a USB stick so that I don’t have to rush around and find another copy. A box set of manuals would be lovely but I have a lot of very nice computer books that I seldom look at these days! |

I’ve been playing around a bit more with the text editor programs I have installed (Fireworkz, StrongED, Writer+ and Edit) and I have noticed that there is varying degrees of consistency between them. Fireworkz seems to support more of the shortcuts than Writer+ but my version of Writer+ is the one that came with the original NutPi so is quite an old version—does anyone have the latest copy of TechWriter and if so can they confirm the availability of keyboard shortcuts for that program against the list above? |
