Thanks to a kindly fellow I have now managed to scan a partial copy of the IOMD Functional Specification (I believe the closest that exists to an IOMD data sheet). http://home.marutan.net/arcemdocs/IOMD%20Functional%20Specification-partial.pdf This is a very useful document to me, so if anyone has a complete copy could they make it available? The Acorn Document number is 0297,030/FS |

Peter, I can email it to you, or you may download it from Chris’s Acorns HTH |

Thanks for the offer Dave, but I’ve already got that one :) The IOMD Functional Specification document appears to have been an internal Acorn document that I only have a partial copy. Given out under NDA back in the 90’s, of course we’re 20 years on now and you can’t even buy the chip anywhere :D |

Seconded, very useful info and I’d like to see the full copy. There’s a couple of names mentioned in the document, it might be worth tracking them down and asking if they retained any original documentation. There’s some additional detail in this document around the differences in DRAM/VRAM DMA handling, which might help me pin down why hardware scrolling behaves differently depending on which RAM type being used for the display. It only affects Caverns, but has bugged me for years. |

Ref using the VRPC-DL with RO5.23 with 0 VRAM set – the screen slider goes out to 32Mb but screen choices are very limited. |
