RISC OS 5.18 - Something went wrong

Hello. I am hoping somebody can tell me what i’ve done wrong, i’m fearing the worst, but I will try and explain it as best I can. My Iyonix was running 5.17 and I decided to do the upgrade to 5.18, I downloaded it successfully, then ran the program, all OK so far, I selected the “full” option which I think was the right option and it started doing all the usual things it does with the a ROM upgrade, I left it alone and it finished with the “press space or click mouse to continue” so I did, then a little while later I rebooted to see 5.18 and then the problems began. The ocmputer boots up fine, the lights all flash correctly, and it beeps, the hard disc whirrs then I get the following RISC OS 512MB 80321 Processor Acorn ADFS Error : file ‘If there’ not found (error no &D6) I have no idea what this means but it doesn’t look good, I have tried reboots and still get the same, I can type *Desktop at the prompt and I get the desktop and it is 5.18 but nothing works at all, the modes, colours and resolution are all wrong, Edit, Paint, Draw, BeebIt etc all work, but I can’t get into !Boot to change things it says “if there not found” What have I done wrong and can this be fixed? I have back ups of my hard disc on a separate USB drive and a 2nd drive in the Iyonix but none of them will get the machine up and running. I hope this can be fixed i’ve never had a problem before with ROM uprgades, I hope this isn’t the end of my Iyonix. Many thanks in advance for any assistance in this problem. cheers |

See thread: “What happened to boot commands?”. Most likely the same reason. |
