Fora speed

There have been several postings here, and csa news postings, remarking that these fora appeared slow. I experienced the problem. I’ve had some email exchanges with Andrew Hodgkinson, who has taken a thorough look and can’t see a problem… but nor can I any more. Whatever the problem was, I think it was temporary and has gone away. Or has it? Is anyone else still seeing slowness? Please post your feedback here. If the problem can be confirmed to have gone away, we can stop investigating. |

Yeah hours ago it was quite slow and I think at one point I was presented with a server side timeout message but now it seems fine again. |

Was horrible over the weekend, Sunday was a real trial with many timeouts. Seems much more responsive today. I blame solar flares – http://www.newsweek.com/solar-minimum-sun-activity-solar-flare-baffling-scientists-661695 |

I got the server timeout message a couple of times too. Seems fine this moaning. |

I too have experienced difficulties in connecting over the last few days, however it all seems to be working well at the moment. I usually access the forum using Firefox on Win 7 and the only fly in the ointment (and it’s a very small one) is that the throbber – if that’s the correct term – takes ages to be replaced by the site’s favicon in each tab. That’s today, yesterday, the throbber didn’t get replaced at all. |

I’ve had issues with the Forums since Saturday morning, everything seems fine today. |

Is it just me, or has it been getting worse again over the past 24 hours? |

Not just you Jeffrey :( |

Not just you. Seems okay for the moment, was pitiable this morning. |

The ROOL web site itself seems fine. The forum is the problem – it takes a while to connect and frequently times out. Using NetSurf, if that makes any difference. |

I agree with the point about Netsurf (on a RC15 Ras Pi, in my case). I often find that using Netsurf, I get no response. But, immediately using Firefox on Windows XP everything is fine. |
