Rebuilding the Iyonix

A little background. I purchased a replacement hard drive, and found I needed !Hform 2.60, which is only available as part of the HardDisc4 download. Downloaded the HardDisc4 tarball & UnTarBZ2 (self-extracting). Unfortunately UnTarBZ2 doesn’t self-extract (see Problems with UnTarBZ2), but I have an earlier version which works on my RPC and allowed me to extract to its hard disc. Using *DHCPExecute ek0 to provide basic networking, I ran !HForm from the extracted HardDisc4, successfully formatted the drive, and transferred the HardDisc4 files. A successful reboot followed, and everything looks OK. This is an original case machine running 5.16 (512MB) with 3 graphics cards, so the next step was to install !Geminus. This is where I’ve run into an issue – !Gemius installs OK, but when I try to use it to enable the other two screens, it falls in a heap with the Describe, Quit, Continue dialogue box, clicking Describe gives ‘Internal error: abort on data transfer at &204f3e04’, the only way out being a reboot. Up till the original hard disc failed, I had not had this issue, however that HardDisc4 image pre-dates the upgrade to 5.16 Anybody have any suggestions as to what might be causing this ? |
