IFTTT

Has anyone used or played with IFTTT? I’ve used it for a couple of things:
IFTTT is free, and potentially very useful, although there always seems to be a lot of trial and error (very nearly as much error as trial, in some cases!) involved in writing an applet to do exactly what I want. I’ve written a RISC OS app that sends a web message in response to a Wimp message, where the applet name, key, and up to three arguments can be specified. If it’s of any use to anyone, I’d be happy to release it after I’ve documented it properly. |

Has anyone used or played with IFTTT? First I’ve heard of it, what is the interface, a web page? I am several hours into finding out if I can get a working telegram-cli, it sounds like telegram can do everything from send messages to controlling a RPi. |

IFTTT = If This, Then That – a means to create aplets to do all sorts of things, usually to control things (think IoT) or communicate with things, and a huge collection of published applets to do lots of these things. It’s a web interface, sadly one that NetSurf can’t handle. I’ve always used Firefox on Ubuntu to create and edit my applets. It’s too diverse to explain in a couple of sentences. I’d recommend anyone to take a look (http://ifttt.com) and have a play. |
