I recall a while back the semi-official Textile reference and Textile here didn’t match, so here’s just some fooling around to see what is what. Quite why the wiki couldn’t just use ’’’Wiki’’’ syntax is ’’beyond’’ me. ;-) This text should be in RED. Indented red? 人類は衰退しました <— Japanese marked as being such. Right aligned. Centred. Headline 3, red, right, en-gbPre text line 1 Pre text line 2
URL – Genki Girl URL with a comma following: Manic Pixie Dream Girl, of course it would be Haruhi, but Paprika counts too. Inserted image, Yuki SMILED! Good guys would explain ETLAs, although one must opine that those who speak nothing but ETLAs should just STFUAD. Tables, almost as yukky a syntax as Wiki-wiki.
[not a comprehensive list (no Beeb, STBs, etc) but sufficient] Multi-span column (“My computers”) needs to be “_\3” as “\3_” won’t work. Some fake code:
Conclusion: The syntax and support more or less follows the Textile reference. The problem is that the parser seems to like stuff in a certain order. One of the nice things about Textile (to give it some credit) is that you can drop to HTML and REALLY MESS THINGS UP! [ you’ll be pleased to know this is pretty much the only time I’ve used any blinking text – horrible, isn’t it? on the other hand, this could be the defining example of why (l)users shouldn’t be allowed to use markup in wiki ] What Textile really needs, given the sensitivity (one might say Lameness Quotient) of the parser, a PREVIEW facility, instead of post-then-edit. That’ll do pig, that’ll do… (^_^) |

PS: How to freak out TranslationParty.com – try a cloud cuckooland phrase such as “spasmodic mistakes and go left besides within the one for a party of salty sausages minced finely forever a wandering carrot”. It is actually a challenge to be weird enough to fail to “find equilibrium”. The result of the above, after much thinking, is: “It’s eternal leaves straight party salt and error carrot sausages spastic linear-linear linear linear linear linear linear linear and non-linear linear motion, slices and you from it.”. That’s probably how I sound when I’m speaking French. ;-) |
