Yup … I ended up using nested blockquotes … but without the ! But when I cu’n’pasted the original to reply to, it lost all the formatting. So I had to first replace the original formatting, then add another level. All very tedious. |

Yes, the fact that this forum doesn’t have a quote button is a source of continual infuriation. Apart from anything else, such buttons take the tedium out of threads like this one, since if you’re ever curious about how someone achieved a certain effect, you can just quote their post, instead of having to ask them to find a way to subvert the formatter to allow them to show you their code! |

Yes, you can nest blockquotes, it seems, but not the bq. shorthand. |
