Nope. I can never work this out, and can’t find in the textile info how to do nested block quotes. |
You have to do multi-level quoting manually…
should turn out as First (and it does! :-) |
bq doesn’t nest AFAIK <blockquote> does nest - treat it like standard HTML tag <blockquote><blockquote> some double depth quoted</blockquote> back to single depth </blockquote> and outside and outsidesome double depth quoted |
Ah-ha! So the problem was that I was barking up entirely the wrong tree! :-) Is this now the right tree? Thanks. Why doesn’t the “help” (sic) say this? Jim |
Because the “help” is lame and the Textile parser is lamer yet? |
Maybe someone who knows most of the markup should write a short “howto” |
Perhaps something like https://www.riscosopen.org/wiki/documentation/show/Forum |
Not that it isn’t a nice document but I was thinking maybe a bit more content |
I’m sure that it can be improved and added to! |
Thinking about it: it appears odd that I can cut and paste items I want to quote. Logically, The two ‘issues’ that have repeatedly caused me to struggle with ‘textile’ are: 1) Quoting and nesting quotes. All the standard explanation deals with is the first level ‘bq’ method 2) Making some test appear as fixed-space preformatted ‘code’. Having done some hand editing of HTML Jim |
This is my own test for quoting a quote
I hope it works |
Nope! Lets have another go… I like chips in brown gravy How did that go? |
Splendid! |
