Bounty proposal: Compile RISC OS with free tools

I think that you possibly don’t realise that the Norcroft/Acorn/ROOL suite is a piece of commercial software (originally costing £250) originally written jointly by Acorn and Codemist (Alan Mycroft and Arthur C Norman), and AFAIK copyright still resides with Codemist.

Also, with the exception of building modules, and the core ROM, GCC (free!) does everything someone developing for a RISC OS platform would require. (Before anyone gets picky, I know this is a generalisation)

Thanks for the info, I been out of the [Acorn] loop for so long! So it really sounds like the path would be to go forward with GCC or better still Clang/LLVM — Apple have invested a lot into ARM/LLVM for iOS, may as well take advantage of that.
