Clipboard

I’m sure if someone offered to just implement the clipboard and possibly drag and drop in writable icons ROOL would come to some arrangement if they wanted part of the bounty. A while back I was thinking about it and wrote a demonstration program writeable.zip which replaces writeable icons in a template with hand drawn writeable icons. The idea was to get a feel for any possible problems and how it would look. The demo implements the clipboard and drag and drop protocols – but I never got round to implementing scrolling to find the drop position. Like most ideas I seem to have it didn’t go any further mainly because I’d have to modify the wimp in assembler – not my idea of fun – also how do you cope with writeable icons in existing programs which already do a simplified cut and paste or drag and drop. I also feel that it would be an opportunity to rewrite the icons part of the wimp in C with a view to the future |

RISC OS Developments would almost certainly back such development work, Colin. |
