Now we have the USB bounty underway, I think it would be nice to start a wifi bounty. What do others think?

Support for atheros chipset with no encryption would be a great start, then look at WPA2 and then wider chipset support?

Just thinking if it starts now, we can get a decent bounty by the time it is ready to be undertaken.

So long as the user knows which dongle to buy. Also it would be sensible to make sure the chipset used with the Pandaboard ES is supported as you have quite a few users of that who can help test and the hardware is identical making comparisons and testing easier.

Yes, I have a Pandaboard ES and would be willing to test WiFi on it and on my BB.

I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for the PandaBoard.
Remember that the LS Research WL1271 TiWi module isn’t even on the USB bus so anyone wanting to support it will have to start either reverse engineering the Ubuntu drivers for it or poke the UART2, SDMMC5, McBSP2 and I2C4 ports on the OMAP4…
